Webster University students have another location to choose from when considering studying abroad this summer 2017. Webster has entered into an agreement with the University of Roehampton in London, whereby Webster study abroad students may attend the well-regarded British institution.

The United Kingdom is the most popular study abroad destination for U.S. students, with London their most preferred destination.

The University of Roehampton offers a first-class educational experience, designed to help students reach their full potential.  The university is ranked the best modern university in London according to the Complete University Guide 2017. Roehampton has a 175-year history in providing higher education and is a welcoming community of 9,000 students from over 140 countries and from all types of backgrounds.

Roehampton is a small, friendly, collegiate community where students can live, learn and socialize together on a beautiful and historic campus in south-west London. The university offers a range of excellent facilities as well as easy access to the world-class museums, libraries and galleries of London.

The summer program consists of two 3-week sessions, with classes normally running 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., four days per week. (Monday - Thursday). Students will earn 5 credits during each session for a total of 10 credits.

These are the course offering this summer: Media City and Cultural Capital; Two Children and the Story of the English Education System; Gods and Heroes of Classical Mythology; Introduction to the London Stage; The Psychology of Murder; Magic, Murder & Mystery in London Literature; Art in London Museums; Art Psychotherapy: madness, creativity and healing; Hidden London; and Londonopolis.

The university has robust social program for students that includes evening events in and around London, day trips to cultural and historic locations in the UK (previously have included York, Stonehenge and Oxford), and shows in London’s famous West End. 

A minimum 2.8 GPA is required. The summer 2017 study abroad application deadline is Feb. 28, 2017.
