On Sept. 24, 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a Proclamation pursuant to Section 2(e) of Executive Order 13780 (the “travel ban”), designating citizens of eight countries for partial or full restrictions on entry to the United States.

As with previous iterations of the travel ban, Webster University leaders will review the proclamation with legal counsel and experts and continue to monitor its implementation. (See previous guidance in January and June.)

As a global institution, we value the mobility of our students, faculty, and staff across campuses and international borders as well as the free flow of information and ideas. Ensuring our community's safety is of utmost importance. We ask our international students and scholars who plan to travel outside the United States to keep in mind that re-entry has never been, nor is it currently, guaranteed.

Our student affairs staff are available as a resource to answer questions and share the latest resources on safe travel. The following resource page also has information and links to third-party guidance on this issue.
