Webster University was ranked very high for student engagement in the annual Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings.

NEW YORK - Earlier this week, Webster University earned its highest rank ever in the U.S. News & World Report annual “Best Colleges” List. And now it has risen in another national ranking. The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education, which jointly publish the WSJ/THE College Rankings, ranked Webster University as one of the best universities in the country for student engagement.

The WSJ/THE College Rankings measures institutions in four general categories: resources, student engagement, outcomes and the college environment. In the Student Engagement category, Webster received an overall score of 82.9, placing Webster in the top 25% for all institutions. The student engagement category used data that measured student engagement, student interaction, subject breadth and whether students recommend the institution.

Overall, Webster was ranked higher in this year’s survey, which was founded five years ago. Out of the 797 institutions in the United States that made this year’s list, Webster was listed in the 500-600 range, up from last year’s placement in the 600 to 800 range.

The ranking used Data from a variety of sources: the US government (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System – IPEDS), the College Scorecard, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the THE US Student Survey, the THE Academic Survey, and the Elsevier bibliometric dataset.
