CERT Training Offered; Register by Oct. 23

The Department of Public Safety will be providing Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training Oct. 26, Oct. 28, Nov. 2, Nov. 4 and Nov 9. All classes will be held from 5-9 p.m. in the East Academic Building.

Attendees must be present for all classes in order to be presented a certificate. The training is a 20-hour course in Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue Operations, CERT Organizations, Disaster Psychology, Terrorism and CERT and a Course Overview with a Disaster Simulation.
 
Webster University CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. Webster University CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference.
 
The Webster University CERT is a volunteer program.  Members will be trained to assist the Webster University Department of Public Safety and Health Services, Webster Groves Police and Fire in the time of need.
