International Student Career and Professional Development Series

Jan. 22, 2016

International Student Career and Professional Development Series
The first workshop of Spring 2016 focused on gaining experience in the United States.

The Career Series for International Students is a collaborative initiative to address consistent inquiries from international students on how to find jobs in the United States, what documents are needed, how to prepare for interviews and more. The series of workshops is co-sponsored by Multicultural Center & International Student Affairs, International Recruitment & International Services, and Career Planning & Development Center.

The workshops planned for the Spring 2016 semester will answer all of these questions and many more. Topics include getting involved on campus and in the community, resume writing, internship and job searching, and interviewing skills. Additionally, workshops are offered on how to navigate visa processes so students remain in compliance with visa requirements.

Next Workshop: Feb. 11

The first workshop for the Spring semester - "Gaining Experience in the U.S." - was held at the University Center Presentation Room on Jan. 21. The event drew strong attendance and students were engaged and interested. The next workshop in the series will be on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Library Conference Room. This session will cover the requirements for students to apply for "Curricular Practical Training."
