About RECESS

RECESS launched in 2011 after co-founders Jack Shannon and Deuce Thevenow met while students at Indiana University. There, they launched their first company, producing college music festivals with some of the hottest acts in music. Despite their success, they had always envisioned something bigger, something that would shake up the status quo and show college students that they, like Jack and Deuce, could turn their ideas into reality. That’s when the idea for RECESS was born. Since then, we have visited more than 35 colleges, reaching over 120,000+ people with our events.
