Webster University Receives 'Outstanding' Award in July 4 Parade

Webster University's float in the annual Webster Groves Community Days July 4 parade received the "Outstanding" award in the category of Best Theme. Global Marketing and Communications, Community Engagement and Facilities Operations collaborated on the University's representation in this major community event, including constructing a float and organizing staff, alumni, student and family member volunteers to represent Webster during the parade, which drew an estimated 40,000 spectators.

A fashion show and art exhibit will open in the Gateway Art Museum on July 20.

"Manology II" Fashion Show and Art Exhibit Scheduled at Gateway Art Museum

A fashion show that will explore the essence of "manhood" will be the featured event July 20 at the Gateway Art Museum. "Manology II" is the brainchild of local fashion visionary Jacquelyne Craig, founder of BLAQ Séance Productions, and William Humphrey of EYEKON Klothing. It will be accompanied by two art exhibits in the gallery space that will be on display through Aug. 20.

Karlie Kloss Visits 'Kode with Klossy' Camp at Gateway Campus

Supermodel Karlie Kloss visited the Gateway Campus last week to drop in on one of her “Kode with Klossy” summer camps, which was hosted by Webster University. Kloss started the summer camps in 2015 to encourage more young women to learn how to write computer code and enter the fields of computer engineering, programming and design. On this visit, President Stroble presented Kloss with a Webster University coin to honor her for supporting the education of young women.

On Saturday, June 23, under the organization of the Confucius Institute at Webster University, Webster fielded a team of students, staff, and faculty at the 12th Annual Gateway Dragon Boat Festival at Creve Coeur Lake. Team members made new friends from throughout the Webster community and across the world, and had fun while showing off their Gorlok pride!

Webster Ghana Hosts Former Ambassador to African Union

The Webster Ghana campus recently hosted Ambassador Reuben E. Brigety II for a brief interactive session with students, faculty and staff. He shared his experiences as a diplomat and his overall professional experiences in Africa and the field of international relations. Webster was the first stop on the former U.S. representative to the African Union's 12-day African and European tour.
