Psychology Lecture Series: Mindi Spencer Talks on Opioid Epidemic, LGBT Health

The final speaker in this year's Psychology Lecture Series, Mindi Spencer of the University of South Carolina, will deliver two presentations this week on current topics. On Thursday at noon, “Beyond Thoughts and Prayers: Change Agents and the Epidemics of Despair” will explore the opioid epidemic as well as the Millennial generation's views on social change and collective action. On Friday at 11 a.m. will be the series concluding talk, “LGBT Health and the Politics of ‘Who Counts’".

The competition gathers competitive cheerleaders from across the country

Webster Cheerleading Places 6th in National Competition

Webster University Competitive Cheerleading competed for the second year at Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Webster Cheer was one of over 500 teams at this national competition and represented Webster University well with a 6th place national ranking. They demonstrated school spirit and stunting skills for the second year in a row, and only the second time ever in Webster University’s 103 year history.

Gorlok Baseball Extends Win Streak to Eight Games

Webster University used a six-run second inning here Friday morning en route to posting a 12-5 victory over 24th-ranked Wheaton (Mass.) College in its sixth game of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational at Lake Myrtle Park. With the victory, Webster extends its win streak to eight straight games and improves its record to 9-2 overall, while Wheaton falls to 4-6 on the year.

Bristol Elementary Students Celebrate Chinese New Year at Confucius Institute

As part of its ongoing celebration of Chinese New Year, the Confucius Institute at Webster University recently partnered with teachers at Bristol Elementary School in Webster Groves to give students a taste of this holiday’s major customs and over all significance to the over one billion people who celebrate it worldwide.
