Call for Judges for Two Forensic Debate Tournaments, Dec. 1-2

Webster’s Forensic and Debate Team is preparing to host two collegiate tournaments Dec. 1 and Dec. 2. As is always the case, locally hosted tournaments succeed with community support, which includes guest critics. Gina Jensen, director of the program, anticipates as many as 25 schools from states throughout the Midwest. There are two tournaments running concurrently: the Study Break Tournament and the Gateway Swing.

Disability Awareness: We can all overcome our challenges

Election Day and the Thanksgiving holiday encouraged the Accessibility Committee and the Academic Resource Center to reflect on the accomplishments of some of the United States’ most well-known individuals despite their challenges with “disabilities.” Many are well aware of some of these examples but may be less familiar with some of the more hidden disabilities that former commanders in chief have overcome and/or managed.

Freedom: The American Hustle

Arcade Gallery Presents 'Freedom: The American Hustle, The Poetry Series' Nov. 17

"Freedom: The American Hustle, The Poetry Series" will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Arcade Contemporary Arts Projects Gallery at the Gateway Campus. The voices of several female poets reflect on the cultural perspectives and concept of freedom of the time. The poetry series is a special extension of the Gallery's art exhibition, "Freedom: The American Hustle," on display through Dec. 8.
