International Education Week Events

Webster University will again host a number of events and activities that support International Education Week Nov. 16-20, including films, art, and sessions to help students learn and prepare for study abroad.
International Education Week provides an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education promotes programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
Chinese Art Exhibit
Nov. 13-20: This exhibit will be held at Saint Louis University High's art gallery, located at 4970 Oakland Ave., 63110. The exhibit, free of charge and open to the public, is presented by Webster's Confucius Institute.
MoneyTalks: Budgeting for Study Abroad
Tuesday, Nov. 17, 12-1 p.m. in Sunnen Lounge
"Budgeting for Study Abroad" is an event that will help students plan their finances for a study abroad experience. Students often put off a study abroad experience due to finances, but this event will provide information and tips on making study abroad affordable. The event is hosted by Webster University MoneyTalks.
Global Photo Contest Reception

Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation
Wednesday, Nov. 18, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Sunnen Lounge
Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation is an event for all students studying abroad during the Spring 2016 semester. Information on culture shock, health and safety, packing and managing finances will be presented during the general orientation sessions.
Students will also attend campus-specific breakout sessions, where they will have a chance to meet with study abroad alumni and ask questions about their individual programs. This event is organized by the Office of Study Abroad.
Film and Discussion: 'American Textures'
Thursday, Nov. 19, 12 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Winifred Moore Auditorium
Join Arnd Wächter, founder, director and producer of the Crossing Borders Films Intercultural Documentary Trilogy as he screens and discusses the third film in the trilogy, "American Textures." This event is by the Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs and the Student Activity Fee.
Film and Discussion: 'The Dialogue'
Friday, Nov. 20, 12-2 p.m. in Winifred Moore Auditorium
Join Arnd Wächter, founder, director and producer of the Crossing Borders Films Intercultural Documentary Trilogy as he screens and discusses the second film in his trilogy, "The Dialogue." This event is sponsored by the Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs and the Student Activity Fee.
Webster is also proud to support local WINS institutions in celebrating International Education Week. On Wednesday, Nov. 17, WINS director Kim McGrath will participate in Fontbonne University's International Bazaar; and on Thursday, Nov. 18 she will participate in Missouri Baptist University's International Festival.
