AVP Sean Coleman to Retire this Month

Sean Coleman, associate vice president for U.S. Military Campuses and Government Programs, has announced his retirement from Webster University, effective Aug. 31.
During his time at Webster, Coleman had a major impact on the University’s reach and enrollment of students in the National Capital Region, as well as its service to military students throughout the network.
He joined Webster in 2011 as National Capital regional director. He later assumed additional duties of associate vice president for U.S. Military Campuses and Government Programs in 2015, where he oversaw operations at each of the University’s military campuses.
“We appreciate the contributions Sean has made to Webster in the capital region and at all of our military locations, as well as his collegial, problem-solving spirit,” said Julian Schuster, Webster’s provost, senior vice president and chief operating officer. “We wish him well and happy travels in his retirement.”
Coleman, a retired U.S. Navy captain who holds a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, previously had his own law firm in the Northern Virginia area for 10 years. He also served as a senior staff member of the President’s Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction, and instructed courses at the Defense Intelligence Agency.
