Webster Welcomes New WINS Partner, Easter Illinois University

Webster University welcomes its newest Webster International Network of Schools (WINS) member, Eastern Illinois University (EIU). Located on a compact 320-acre campus in Charleston, Illinois, EIU has earned its reputation by offering a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs taught by an experienced and caring faculty.

Established in 1895 as the Eastern Illinois State Normal School, a teacher's college offering a two-year degree, EIU has expanded into a comprehensive university with a broad curriculum, including Baccalaureate and Master's degrees in education, business, arts, sciences, and humanities. Currently EIU is a selective school with roughly 7,500 students across four colleges: The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, The Lumpkin College of Business and Technology, The College of Education and the College of Health and Human Service. EIU currently sends student on primarily short-term study abroad programs and will be expanding those options to include term and semester programs across the Webster network. WINS will be represented at the school's study abroad fair on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Recognizing that an individual's impact can be impact can be local or global, EIU prides itself on having produced some of the most impressive thinkers, workers and leaders the state of Illinois has ever seen. Notable alumni include former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Ted Gregory, and the versatile actor and producer John Malkovich.
