The Webster University community is invited to the 23rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration on Sunday, Jan. 14, at Steger Sixth Grade Center in Webster Groves. The celebration includes a march, dinner reception and service. Nicole Roach, Webster University’s Associate Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion, will be representing the University at the event by reciting a poem.

The Webster Groves Community celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. with a march from Webster Groves City Hall to Steger 6th Grade Center 701 N. Rock Hill Road. Walkers are asked to bring flashlights and dress warmly. A dinner reception will be held at Steger at 5 p.m. followed by the celebration and community service also held at Steger.

The celebration service includes:

  • Keynote speaker Rev. Dr. Craig Howard, Transitional Presbytery Leader of the Giddings Lovejoy Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church USA
  • Music performances by the North Webster Community Choir, Webster Groves High School’s A-Men and A-Ladies and Avery Elementary School’s Spotlight Singers.
