The Faculty Development Center invites all faculty, students and staff to take part in the Equity and Access Faculty Conversation Series: a series of monthly discussions and pizza lunches.

Join the Equity and Access Conversation Series to discuss crucial issues of justice and inclusion in higher education, with the goal of helping all Webster students achieve their academic goals. A schedule of this year’s meetings is below.

Any community feedback or suggestions for further sessions can be communicated on the RSVP form. Please email  Liza Dister , faculty development coordinator, with any questions.

Supporting Students' Mental Health

Thursday, Jan. 30, noon-1 p.m., University Center Sunnen Lounge

Discussion about supporting students' mental health will be led by Samantha Sipple, assistant director, Counseling & Life Development, and Hasmik Chakaryan, associate professor, Department of Professional Counseling.

Supporting First-Generation Students

Friday, Mar. 27, noon-1 p.m., University Center Sunnen Lounge

Discussion leaders will be Corey Hawkins, Transitions coordinator, Academic Resource Center; JB Kwon, associate professor, Department of Anthropology & Sociology.

Supporting Students with Autism

Friday, Oct. 11, noon-1 p.m., Library Conference Room (Library 120)

Discussion on supporting students with autism/ASD will be led by John Aleshunas, professor of Math & Computer Science; and Morgan Grotewiel, assistant professor of Psychology, along with Webster students.

Supporting International Students

Thursday, Nov. 21, noon-1 p.m., Library Conference Room (Library 120)

Discussion on supporting international students will be led by Bethany Keller, assistant director, MCISA; and Carolyn Trachtova, director, ESL Program, Academic Resource Center, along with Webster students.
