Volleyball 'Dig Pink' Night: Support Gorloks and Fight Cancer

The Webster University volleyball team will be hosting its annual "Dig Pink" match on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Gorloks welcome its Big Bend Boulevard rivals Fontbonne University for a 7 p.m. match inside Grant Gymnasium on the main campus.
This will mark the 11th consecutive year that Webster will hold a "Dig Pink" match in support of the Sideout Foundation, which raises money and awareness of breast cancer.
"Dig Pink" is a nationwide movement to provide meaningful and impactful experiences for athletes while inspiring and empowering them to come together in support of the stage IV breast cancer community.
In its first 10 years, Side-Out's Dig Pink Movement and its nearly 100,000 student-athlete participants have raised almost 14 million dollars for research. With this tremendous support, Side-Out and the sport of volleyball are providing more quality time for those living with stage IV breast cancer through our game-changing clinical trials.
During Webster's "Dig Pink" match with Fontbonne, there will 50/50 raffles, games and a silent auction for the fans to participate in, and all fans attending the game are encouraged to wear pink.
Along with it being "Dig Pink" night, the match with Fontbonne will also serve as the team's Senior Night as they will honor their seniors in a prematch ceremony. This year's three seniors are student manager Claire Martin, right-side hitter Sarah Jacobs and setter Jenna Rodriguez.
Also, Webster will honor two juniors that will be graduating this year and not returning next season. Those two juniors are libero Kristen Farrah and outside hitter Samantha Kruse.
