Academic Resource Center Sees Increased Use of Key Services

Academic Resource Center (ARC) services are regularly used, and data comparing Fall 2019 to Fall 2018 data shows increased use of the following services and supports:

  • Academic counseling
  • ADA accommodations
  • Student workshops, meetings, and trainings
  • Tutoring, particularly due to additional resources and access through NetTutor

Faculty and staff members can connect students to services directly and/or by raising relevant flags and referrals through the Student Success Portal, powered by Starfish:

  • Academic Counseling Referral
  • Academic Integrity (flag)
  • ADA Concern (flag)
  • ADA Referral
  • Tutoring Referral
  • Writing Referral

Additionally, faculty are encouraged to invite ARC team members into their classrooms for short presentations or mini lectures. Presentations generally cover the various services and how they can support their students, while the lectures typically focus on academic integrity, paraphrasing, proper APA and/or MLA documentation, and writing development or time management and study skills.

Presentations can be requested online at webster.edu/arc or by contacting ARC team members directly.
