Academic Resource Center Undergoing Expansion, Renovation
June 18, 2020

Construction has begun on an expansion and renovation to the Academic Resource Center (ARC). The ARC, physically located on the Webster Groves campus in Loretto Hall Room 40, is expanding into the space between it and Marletto’s (where the Human Resources offices used to be located). This work will continue throughout the summer and conclude just after the start of the Fall 2020 semester.
The enhanced ARC space will be an inviting, comfortable environment that will include more seats in the Testing Center, including improvements to distraction-reduced testing options, and flexible workspaces for students to complete their homework and meet with tutors and writing coaches.
While construction is underway and Summer 2020 courses are remote, most ARC services and resources are available remotely. These services and resources include:
- Academic integrity awareness and education programs
- Academic Counseling
- Assistive technology consultation and support
- Classroom presentations and mini lessons for students
- Disability accommodations and support
- Trainings and support for faculty and staff
- Tutoring services
- Writing services

The only service not currently available is the Academic Resource Center’s Testing Center. However, plans are moving forward to reopen the Testing Center in a temporary space with a goal for reopening to appointment-only testing following the Fourth of July holiday weekend. As plans develop, more information will be shared with the Webster community.
