Webster Surpasses Gorloks Now! Crowdfunding Goal
Thank you!

Thanks to the generosity of over 160 community members and friends across 24 U.S. states and five countries, Webster University has surpassed its goal of raising $30,000 for the Gorloks Now! Fund.

With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting students and employees across the entire Webster system this spring, Gorloks Now! was launched as just one avenue for members of the global Gorloks community to lend a helping hand.

From its first-ever virtual commencement ceremony in May to daily discussions on community academic, safety and health needs, Webster has continued to adjust operations to the restrictions of the pandemic while remaining focused on providing an accessible, high-quality education.

“I am so proud of our community for finding ways to lift each other up during a time of need,” said Chancellor Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble. “While the pandemic required alterations in treasured traditions and routines for everyone at Webster, we have seen a passionate response – by trustees, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends all asking, ‘What can we do to help?’”

Gorloks Now!, which drew support from 167 donors, was part of Webster’s inaugural crowdfunding efforts, a way to quickly rally community support for a specific need. Other funds included in the crowdfunding drive are the Front-Line Responders Fund – supporting students who are also on the front lines of pandemic response – and the Chancellor’s Vision Fund, which provides support to a variety of critical programs each year.

Community members can continue to support those funds through the crowdfunding initiative at https://webstergives.webster.edu/.
