Josh Johnson Named to All-Star Teams
March 20, 2020
Webster University senior Josh Johnson raked in two regional honors this season, earning places on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Second-Team All-District Team for the Central Region and the Second-Team All-Central Region by D3Hoops.com.
Johnson becomes the first Gorlok men's basketball player to earn a spot on the D3Hoops.com All-Central Region Team since the organization began its postseason awards program in 2002 and the second Gorlok since 2003 to earn NABC All-District honors and the first since Stefan Whittingham was honored as a Second-Team All-Midwest selection in 2012.
Second-Team NABC All-District Selection
The NABC All-District honor, which is selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III, goes along with Johnson being named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a repeat First-Team All-SLIAC selection this season.
Johnson, who helped lead the Gorloks to a 19-9 overall record, back-to-back regular season SLIAC titles, a SLIAC Tournament title this year and a berth in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament for first time since 2014 and just the fifth time in school history, was the only player selected to the NABC All-District Central Region Team from the SLIAC.

Second-Team All-Central Region Honors
Nominations for the D3Hoops.com All-Region teams are submitted by the Sports Information
Directors from the schools in the region, while the voting was also done by SIDs,
who voted for a predetermined order of players in their region. This is the 19th season
that D3Hoops.com has named All-Region teams.
The D3Hoops.com Second-Team All-Central Region selection came one day after Johnson
was named to the NABC Second-Team All-District Team from the Central Region. In addition
to earning All-Region honors from both the NABC and D3Hoops.com, Johnson was also
named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a repeat
First-Team All-SLIAC selection this season.
