Macias Named to 2019-2020 NABC Honors Court

Webster University junior guard Elijah Macias was honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on July 15 as the organization announced its 2019-2020 NABC Honors Court.

Macias was among the 1,350 men's collegiate basketball players from NCAA Division I, II and III and the NAIA to recognized for their excellence in the classroom during the 2019-2020 season. Macias is the first Gorlok to be named to the Honors Court since Dominic Newton and Parker Van Nest were each honored in 2017-2018.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically on the varsity men's basketball team and have achieved at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the 2019-2020 academic year and they must have matriculated at least one year at their current school.

Macias, a business administration major, was a key reserve for the back-to-back St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season champion Gorloks during the 2019-2020 season. Macias was one of six men's basketball student-athletes from the SLIAC named to the 2019-2020 Honors Court as Eureka had three selections and Principia had two overall selections.
