Mulhearn Named to CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America Baseball Team

Webster University senior pitcher Matt Mulhearn has been named to the Academic All-America Division III Baseball Second Team as announced on June 9 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Mulhearn is just the fifth Webster student-athlete in school history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-American honors and the second baseball player. .
Mulhearn was one of three baseball players from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to be named to the CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America Baseball Team as Spalding senior outfielder Garrett Wilson was a first team selection and Westminster (Mo.) College senior outfielder Ryan Clavin was a third team selection. A two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District V selection and three-time member of the SLIAC Spring All-Academic Team, Mulhearn carries a 3.79 cumulative grade point average in his first year of pursuing his MBA at Webster.
During his time at Webster, Mulhearn, who is expected to complete his senior campaign in 2021 after having the 2020 season cut short in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has become one of the top pitchers in school history as he is tied for third in career wins (22), fourth in career starts (34), fourth in career innings pitched (246.0), fourth in career strikeouts (227), fifth in career appearances (54) and sixth in career ERA (2.60).
