Webster University made history in 2020-2021 as the Athletics program continued its multi-sport dominance by winning its 19th St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Sports Award, and also earning its first the SLIAC Sportsmanship Award. The season-long awards were announced on May 19.

By winning both in the same academic year, Webster University became just the second school to claim the SLIAC Commissioner's Cup.

Commissioner's Cup: Competitive Success and Sportsmanship

The Commissioner's Cup is a traveling trophy and is presented to and held by the school that wins both the All-Sports Award and Sportsmanship Award in the same academic year. Westminster is the only other school to receive the SLIAC Commissioner's Cup as they won both the All-Sports and Sportsmanship Awards during the 2015-2016 academic year.

Webster earned its first-ever SLIAC Sportsmanship Award after winning the Team Sportsmanship Award in four different sports, while also finishing among the top three in sportsmanship an additional three times during the 2020-2021 academic year. The Gorloks took home the Team Sportsmanship Awards in women's cross country, men's tennis, women's track and field and men's basketball.

19th All-Sports Award in 21 Seasons

The Gorloks took home the league's All-Sports Award for the fourth consecutive year and 19th time overall in 21 years. Webster has won this award 15 times in the last 17 years.

Amid a pandemic-challenged season that required adjustments from students, staff and coaches, this year Webster won SLIAC titles in men's soccer, women's basketball and baseball, and SLIAC Tournament titles in men's soccer, women's tennis, men's golf and softball. In addition, the Gorloks were league runners-up for men's cross country, women's cross country, indoor men's track and field, women's soccer, outdoor men's track and field, outdoor women's track and field and softball and finished third in volleyball and men's tennis.
