Webster MBA Student Regional Head of Uzbekistan Foreign Language Agency

Webster Universisty in TashkentOtabek Jumanov, a current MBA student at Webster University in Tashkent, was appointed to head the Jizzakh regional office of the Agency for the Promotion of the Study of Foreign Languages. The new government agency answers directly to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As the head of the agency in Jizzakh region, Jumanov explained, his overarching goals are “giving a helping hand to foreign language teachers to master their language skills to a new level” and to “organize language training courses in popular foreign languages based on the needs of local people.”

Commenting on his current MBA studies, Jumanov said: “Certainly, I have been learning a lot and improving my skills at Webster University. After reading what the MBA program offers to students, I was sure that it will help me master managerial and leadership skills in all the aspects of governmental and private sectors of the economy. I want to thank my instructors, who have been teaching me to boost my knowledge.”

The Agency for the Promotion of the Study of Foreign Languages is tasked with many goals related to foreign language study: coordinating the implementation of international programs and textbooks for foreign language study, creating a lifelong learning system for learning languages, producing educational content, assisting in developing translation training and methodologies, and more.
