Faculty: Panel invitation for virtual July conference
January 29, 2021
Sally Ross from Sacred Heart University, a WINS partner institution, is inviting presentations for the university’s inaugural Teaching and Learning Conference to be held in July.
The call for panelists for a 60-minute panel discussion on the post-pandemic future of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), Experiential Digital Global Engagement (EDGE) or other online or virtual international collaborative pedagogy, is to be submitted to the Inaugural Teaching and Learning Conference hosted virtually by Sacred Heart University (SHU) from July 14-15, 2021.
The theme of the conference is “Where Do We Go from Here? Teaching and Learning After the Pandemic.” Ross is seeking co-presenters who have experience teaching collaborative online classes at the undergraduate or graduate level, particularly during the pandemic. Presenters should be prepared to discuss best practices and strategies for teaching these types of courses, how they have furthered their institution’s strategic internationalization goals, and what they envision as the future role of international online/virtual learning.
If you are interested, please send a brief biography, including your experience with international online instruction, as well as a short description of what you would contribute to this discussion (100-150 words total) to rosss2@sacredheart.edu by Feb. 7.
Ross is the chair, Department of Media and Theatre Arts; director, Film and Television Graduate Program; and associate professor in the School of Communication at Sacred Heart University. She can also be reached at (203)371-7862.
SHU is a private, Catholic university located in Fairfield, Connecticut and with satellites in Stamford, Luxembourg and Dingle, Ireland.
