Webster Mentoring Program Ready to Connect Students with Alumni
February 02, 2021
The Webster Mentoring Program is up and running, connecting students to alumni all over the world. The Mentoring Program is a rolling program with no deadlines for applications for students or alumni mentors.
Students will be given access to a Mentoring Database to search by job professions, places of business, alumni majors and more.
The Webster Mentoring Program is operated by three Webster departments; Student Affairs, Alumni Relations and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Feel free to reach out to any of the following people with questions about the program.
- Kelly Dopman, director of Alumni Relations and the annual fund
- Vincent Flewellen, chief diversity officer
- John Link, director of Career Planning & Development
- Larry Morris, assistant director of the Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs
- Billy Ratz, director, Parent Engagement
The Connect
Part of the new options in the Mentoring Program is The Connect, a program initiative designed to help current Black and other students of color connect with Black or other alumni of color. Interested alumni will be available to mentor any student, and students will search through the same mentoring database to participate in The Connect. There are currently over 175 alumni mentors in the database and that numbers goes up every day.
Read this story in The Journal for more information about the program and a couple of the alumni mentors in the program.
