Task Force Message: Safety during holiday season

The following message was distributed to students and employees on Nov. 23, 2021.

To the Webster University Community,

As we enter a holiday break and families in the U.S. celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday while several communities in Europe are facing new health restrictions, we again thank you for following our coronavirus protocols to help keep our community safe during the pandemic. Overall, more than 91% of students have reported being vaccinated. At the Webster Groves campus alone, 97% of the student population is compliant with our vaccination policy, and 95% of faculty and staff are vaccinated.

The pandemic is not over, and we know to expect new challenges going forward. But our collective effort and diligence to follow protocols, like wearing face masks, maintaining social distance, staying home when we have symptoms, and attaining vaccination, has been critical to minimizing transmission, which has enabled our community to continue operations and maintain a safe environment for education.

Holidays and travel inherently increase the potential for transmission, so we urge our community members to continue to follow local guidance and make safe, informed choices. If you experience symptoms or test positive for the virus, follow the protocols on Webster’s COVID-19 resource pages or specific directions at your campus location.

We wish everyone a happy and safe holiday.
