Harris-Stowe State University Joins Webster University’s WINS Program
October 21, 2021
Harris-Stowe State University has joined Webster University's Webster International Network of Schools (WINS) program, expanding Harris-Stowe's study abroad program portfolio to include Webster’s international campuses, and creating new opportunities for students and faculty to study and teach in Europe, Asia, Africa and Central America.
To commemorate the partnership, Webster University Chancellor Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble and President Julian Schuster joined Harris-Stowe Interim President LaTonia Collins Smith to sign the WINS agreement in the University Center on Webster's main campus in Webster Groves, Missouri, on Oct. 14.
Colleagues from both institutions gathered underneath the colorful display of international flags that represent the many nationalities of Webster’s worldwide network of campuses, and shared enthusiasm for exciting opportunities moving forward. Chancellor Stroble and President Schuster welcomed the delegation and President Collins Smith expressed appreciation for the partnership and for Webster’s excellent tradition in international education.

This new partnership will serve an important role for two unique institutions to deliver international higher education to the St. Louis community. Harris-Stowe State University is strongly committed to providing a high-quality higher education experience that is both affordable and accessible to the diverse populations within and beyond the metropolitan St. Louis region.
Harris-Stowe joins other Missouri WINS partners, including St. Louis University, Missouri Baptist, Fontbonne, and Columbia College. In addition, the university is one of a growing number of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) – including Tuskegee University, Spelman College, and Florida A&M University – that are actively participating in the WINS program.
The WINS program, established more than 15 years ago, creates partnerships between Webster University and U.S. universities to provide access to Webster's international campuses on four continents, as well as programs offered by international partners in China, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium and England.
The program allows full-time, degree-seeking students of affiliated U.S. universities to study abroad at one of Webster's designated WINS locations and allows for collaborative program development amongst partner institutions.
"We are thrilled to participate in the WINS program,” said Sabrina Brown, Interim Executive Director of Academic Engagement at Harris-Stowe. “This new partnership provides access to unique courses in a challenging yet familiar American-style environment at each of Webster’s unique international campuses and makes a very exciting partnership as we build connections between two distinctive St. Louis institutions."
