CMS Student Evelina Jacinta Performs National Anthem at Faust Park Summer Concert Series

For the past few years, the Community Music School (CMS) of Webster University has been a sponsor of the Faust Park Summer Concert Series. This year, CMS student Evelina Jacinta (violin) will play the National Anthem at the opening of many of the concerts.

Evelina Jacinta Jacinta is a homeschooled seventh-grader from Collinsville, Illinois. She has been taking violin lessons since age 5 and is currently studying with Webster University Assistant Professor/CMS teacher Matt Pickart. Currently, Jacinta is the concertmaster of the Belleville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and a violinist with the Young People's Concert Orchestra at the CMS.

Jacinta also began piano lessons at age 5, and is currently studying with Webster University Professor/CMS teacher Melissa Coppola. While classically trained on both instruments, she also studies jazz on violin and piano. Jacinta is a four-time Irish fiddle/slow air category winner of the St. Louis Irish Arts Feis competition. She has also composed several original works and looks forward to diving into composition even more in the future.

Outside of her musical pursuits, Jacinta enjoys playing tennis, writing short stories and spending time with her two dogs.

"I really love being a part of the musical community of St. Louis and the Community Music School, and this opportunity gave me a chance to try something as a solo performer, since I'm used to spending a lot of my time with orchestras," Jacinta said. "It's been a lot of fun so far, and I really like watching the different bands perform every week at the park."

For 34 years, the Chesterfield Regional Chamber has presented summer concerts to the Chesterfield community. Faust Park is host to over 50,000 residents and friends enjoying music and talents of local musicians. Concertgoers can purchase soda, beer, wine, popcorn, candy and snacks and the chamber's concession stand. Food trucks and local restaurants also provide a variety of dining choices.

More information is on chamber's website.
