St. Louis Theatre Circle Award Nominations for Webster Students, Faculty, Alumni

Congratulations to these Webster University students, alumni and faculty for their nominations by St. Louis Theater Circle for outstanding work in local professional theater in 2020 and 2021:

  • Debby Lennon (Adjunct Professor of Voice) - Nominated as Outstanding Leading Performer in a Drama - Female or Non-binary Role, recognizing her work in Songs for Nobodies at Max & Louie Productions.
  • Nic Valdez (BM Music Direction for Musical Theatre, 2018) - Nominated as Outstanding Music Director for Head Over Heels at New Line Theatre.
  • Jeremy Jacobs (BM Music Direction for Musical Theatre, 2021) - Nominated as Outstanding Music Director for Jersey Boys at Stages St. Louis.
  • Jeremy Bates (MM Performance with an Emphasis in Voice, 2020) sang in the ensemble and Jacob Lassetter (Professor and Associate Chair for Recruiting and Events Management) sang the role of Sonora in the Winter Opera St. Louis production of La fanciulla del West, nominated for Outstanding Production of an Opera. 
  • Karen Kanakis (Adjunct Professor of Voicesang the lead role of Minnie in the Winter Opera St. Louis production of La fanciulla del West and was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Opera. 
  • Jamison McKeehan (BA Music, 2022) sang in the ensemble, and Randell McGee (BM Vocal Performance, 2016) sang the roles of Hermann and Schlemil in Union Avenue Opera’s production of Les contes d’Hoffmann, nominated for Outstanding Production of an Opera. 
The St. Louis Theatre Circle is a group of area theatre critics, and the only locally-based theatre awards. The ninth annual awards will be presented in a virtual ceremony at 7 p.m. CT on March 28, streaming on HEC-TV.
