Webster-UESTC 20th Anniversary Celebration Held in Chengdu

With an audience of more than 300 attendees, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and Webster University celebrated 20 years of continuous MBA education in Chengdu, China on Dec. 10. Ryan Guffey, director general for global campuses, served as a keynote speaker alongside Zeng Yong, the president of UESTC. Webster University President Julian Schuster attended remotely and commended the alumni, students and professors on creating an innovative environment that brings the best of both American and Chinese entrepreneurialism together.

President Yong, who, in his previous role as Dean of the School of Management and Economics, helped establish the partnership 20 years ago, spoke at the event.  
 
“UESTC is one of the leading universities in China, especially endowed in STEM teaching and research, and, thanks to Webster, also in the areas of business and management.”   
 
Webster University provides the MBA in Chengdu as a joint partnership between the School of Management and Economics at UESTC and the Walker School of Business and Technology at Webster University, tailored with an international focus and for already or soon to be executives.  
 
Dr. Liu Bo, the UESTC Co-Director of the Joint Program, asked the audience, comprised of alumni and current students, to envision the next 20 years. He encouraged them to traverse onwards in their careers while supporting their classmates and fellow alumni as they continue to create opportunity for all who are part of the partnership.
