Shostak on Live Now with Fox

Grant Shostak

Visiting Assistant Professor Grant Shostak (Legal Studies) was interviewed live on Live Now with Fox on Saturday, June 8 to discuss a note the judge in Trump’s hush money case sent to the prosecution and defense attorney, claiming a Facebook post alleging potential jury misconduct was found on a Facebook page.

Shostak was back on Live Now with Fox on June 12 to discuss the conviction of Hunter Biden in a gun possession case. That interview was replayed on Fox 13 in Tampa, Florida on June 13.

Shostak also was interviewed live on KMOV during the 6 p.m. newscast on June 11 to give context to Biden’s conviction and what that says about the criminal justice system in the United States.

Shostak was interviewed on Live Now with Fox on Saturday, June 15, to discuss several recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings and to discuss cases that are expected to have rulings issued by the end of June.

Hall in Newsweek and Al Sharq to Discuss National Politics

Bill Hall

Adjunct Professor Bill Hall was quoted in Newsweek magazine about a recent poll that concluded that a growing percentage of older voters are saying they no longer support Donald Trump for president. Hall also was quoted in Newsweek about President Biden’s push to flip North Carolina in the upcoming 2024 election.

Hall also was interviewed by Al-Sharq News in the Middle East about the potential impact Trump’s convictions could have on the upcoming national election.

Smith Discusses an AI-Generated Article and a Warning for Social Media

Julie Smith

School of Communications Instructor Julie Smith was interviewed by KSDK about an AI-generated article that was posted to the Riverfront Times website and then quickly taken down after readers identified the article as being fake.

Smith also was interviewed live on KMOX about the U.S. Surgeon General’s suggestion that social media should come with warning labels about mental health.

Dani Belo

International Relations Professor Dani Belo was interviewed live on KNX Radio in Los Angeles about the significance of Vladmir Putin’s visit to North Korea (clip not online).

Blazer, Ray Chaudhuri and Le in Vietnam

Vice President for Enrollment Management Lisa Blazer, Assistant Vice President for International Enrollment Samrat Ray Chaudhuri and Chess Coach Liem Le made several presentations in Vietnam this month to discuss how to transfer into Webster University and the many programs available to students. The visits were covered by multiple Vietnamese news agencies:

Webster Alumnus Named Commander of the Combined Arms Training Center

Stars and Stripes had a feature story on Webster Alumnus Col. Scott Welborn, who took over command of Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji in Shizuoka prefecture in Japan.
