Record Donations Raised During the Fourth-Annual Gorloks Give Day

The fourth-annual Gorloks Give Day, held Oct. 22, was more than a tremendous success. It was a record-breaking effort.

A small team of volunteers helped raise more than $120,000 in a 24-hour period, beating last year’s total by more than $100,000, setting an overall record for Gorloks Give, and exceeding this year’s goal by nearly 50%.

“Words cannot express our gratitude to everyone who stepped up to help raise scholarship funds for Webster’s students,” said Vice President of Global Marketing, Communications and Advancement Stephanie Dane. “The generosity of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and others who love Webster was amazing! Everyone is excited about Webster's transformation, and this Gorlocks Give Day was just the first step toward empowering our students to change the world.”

This year:

• The total number of gifts, as well as gifts from alumni was 50% higher than last year. 
• Total funds raised were more than the combined total of all other "Gorloks Give Days". 
• For the first time, every member of Webster's Board of Trustees and Leadership Team made donations. The Leadership Team includes deans, vice presidents and the heads of major departments.
