The Missouri Arts Council awarded Webster’s Community Music School with the 2026 Missouri Arts Award for Arts Education. The award was announced last Wednesday.

"This award is a testament to our entire community—our dedicated faculty who inspire students every day, the families who prioritize music education, and most importantly, the students who remind us why this work matters," said Nicole Springer, director of the Community Music School of Webster University.

The prestigious recognition celebrates Webster’s commitment to bringing the transformative power of music education to students and communities throughout the St. Louis region.

"The arts tell the story of who we are as Missourians," Missouri Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger said. "These honorees remind us that creativity isn't confined to one city or stage—it's alive in classrooms, small towns, and communities across our state."

The Community Music School was one of 262 individuals, organizations, and communities recognized by the Missouri Arts Council last week. The full announcement is online.
