Webster University’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program was named one of the top graduate nursing programs in the nation for the fourth year in a row in the annual U.S. News & World Report 2025 Graduate School Rankings. The MSN program was ranked at #106 this year. Overall, the Nursing program has risen nearly 30 spots in the ranking in the past five years.

Webster’s Doctor of Nursing Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) and the Master's of Health Administration (MHA) programs were ranked by peers in the top 100 programs of its kind (Best Nursing-Anesthesia Schools). The MSN, MHA and nursing-anesthesia rankings were released today.

In fall 2024 and early 2025, U.S. News surveyed 683 nursing schools with master's or doctoral programs accredited by either the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation.

Data considered for the ranking included:

  • A peer assessment score from a survey of deans of nursing programs across the United States.
  • A survey of health care professionals.
  • The average number of grants each program received.
  • The percentage of faculty members who also were active practicing nurses.
  • The ratio of students to professors.
  • The percentage of prospective students accepted into a program, and their average GPA earned from their bachelor’s degree.
  • The percentage of students in a program who finished their degree.

U.S. News & World Report also surveyed academic leaders in 10 health fields to produce a “peer” ranking of those programs. Out of the 140 nurse anesthetist programs included in the peer rankings, Webster’s DNAP program was ranked at #68. Webster's MHA program in the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology was also ranked by peers at #81.
