Armin Kammel to lead new WVPU Department of Law
March 25, 2026

Webster Vienna Private University (WVPU) has appointed Prof. Armin Kammel, LL.M.,
MBA, an expert in comparative international business law with a focus on banking law
and financial regulation, as associate professor of Comparative International Business
Law and as head of the newly established WVPU Department of Law.
Kammel has served as an adjunct faculty member at WVPU since 2020. In his new role,
he continues to teach a range of courses and leads the development and delivery of
the university’s law program. Kammel also serves as Of Counsel with the global law
firm DLA Piper in its Vienna office.
WVPU’s forthcoming Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) offers a comprehensive legal education
with a focus on comparative and business law. The program equips students with the
theoretical foundations and practical skills necessary for professional practice in
an international context.
Students develop critical thinking, legal reasoning and research skills through a rigorous curriculum that integrates academic study with practical training. Case studies, business simulations and faculty-led research expose students to real-world legal challenges and comparative perspectives in both public and private law, including international regulatory frameworks and compliance.
This interdisciplinary and practice-oriented approach prepares graduates to navigate
the complexities of the global legal and regulatory environment and to pursue careers
in law firms, corporate legal departments, the financial sector and international
organizations.
Graduates of WVPU’s law program will be prepared for a wide range of international
and interdisciplinary careers. Career paths include in-house legal counsel positions
in multinational corporations, legal and regulatory roles in banks and financial institutions
and compliance functions across the financial sector. Graduates may also pursue careers
as policy analysts in government agencies or as legal consultants for non-governmental
and international organizations, including the United Nations.
WVPU’s law programs do not qualify graduates to sit for bar examinations in Austria or in the United States.
