Geneva, Vienna Webster LEADS Retreat Forms Bonds, Prepares Student Mentors

Last weekend, students in the Webster LEADS leadership program from the Webster University Vienna and Geneva campuses met up for what has become a hallowed annual tradition – a joint retreat in the Swiss Alps.
Senior student leaders from both campuses, supported by Student Services staff, led a series of workshops, activities, sessions — some of which cannot be mentioned in detail here so they can remain a surprise for future Webster LEADS participants.
Students learned about team-building, trust, community, communication, and putting themselves in the shoes of freshmen who start at Webster and need their help. The objective of the retreat was to build leadership skills and strong relationships between student leaders and prepare them to welcome and support new students arriving at Webster.

For over 20 years, WebsterLEADS has engaged students in an on-going application of scholarship and practical leadership experiences that develops a foundation from which they will change the world. The University’s undergraduate student leadership development program began with a focus on a handful of involved students on the home campus in Webster Groves, where Webster University was founded in 1915.
Today, WebsterLEADS has evolved into is a singularly trans-global leadership development program, with over 250 students on Webster’s campuses in Webster Groves, Leiden, Vienna and Geneva actively pursuing the Leadership Certificate.
