Major General highlights leadership at San Antonio commencement 2015

Webster University graduates from San Antonio-area campus locations recently celebrated at a commencement ceremony in the Grand Banquet Hall located on the picturesque grounds of the St. George Marionite Center.

This year’s ceremony in the city known to many as "Military, USA" took on extra significance as Maj. Gen. LaWarren Patterson, deputy commanding general, Operations/Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Joint Base-San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, delivered the commencement address.

His inspiring words drew the cheers of 700 attendees as he described his own background and commitment to lifelong learning through inspired leadership.

While commending graduates for their achievements, Maj. Gen. Patterson took special note of Webster University’s centennial and proud heritage.

Across the network of Webster campuses around the world, local ceremonies will continue throughout the summer and into the fall depending on local schedule.

The largest of these is in St. Louis, where Webster University was founded in 1915, and where its 96th commencement ceremony was held at The Muny in Forest Park. In this centennial year, 6,574 graduates from 110 countries are earning their degrees across the world.
