National Cyber Security Awareness Month - The Internet Wants You: Consider a Career in Cybersecurity

We are excited to kick off the fourth and final week of security awareness month. For this week, we will focus on how you can get started in a career in cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is an extremely exciting field with many diverse skills and experiences needed. In addition, it is easier to get started than you may think. This week we will be highlighting some exciting new ways you can get started.

• First, we will share the ability to assess your aptitude for cybersecurity. This assessment does not test your technical skills, instead it tests your personality and approach to problem solving to help you determine if you would be a good fit for this field.
• Next, we will share with you CyberAces, a fantastic website dedicated to getting you started in cybersecurity to include training on the fundamentals, all for free.
• Additionally, there are several Cybersecurity Awareness courses available at Lynda.com — the computer-based training site that all faculty, staff and student can access via the Connections portal — whether you want to become a cybersecurity professional or just increase your knowledge.
• Lastly, don’t forget about Webster University’s very popular Cybersecurity Program. Interest in this program continues to grow. Find out more!
