Faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in Webster’s yearly Teaching Festival, to be held Feb. 13-17 in Emerson Library.
This year’s weeklong activities are organized around the theme of “Finding and Sharing Voice: Active Learning for Inquiry, Agency and Leadership,” and the week’s presentations, panels and discussions will cover topics such as developing student inquiry, promoting student agency, supporting leadership development and fostering diversity and inclusion in the Webster community.

Participants are encouraged to RSVP for sessions they would like to attend.
Highlights of the week’s activities include:
- On Monday, a poster session/reception with refreshments, featuring topics such as: identifying areas for growth in your teaching, the role the new Interdisciplinary Science Building will play in supporting teaching and learning, and a community service learning project where students at the Athens campus worked with refugees.
- On Tuesday, a panel discussion featuring President Stroble about a first-year seminar project that studied the University’s role in the Webster Groves community.
- On Wednesday through Friday, hands-on presentations and workshops on topics such as engaging students in the classroom, promoting agency and inclusion through active learning, evaluating student work with Turnitin, and creating portfolios to document prior learning.
All sessions will be held in the Library Conference Room (Emerson Library 120) or in the Faculty Development Center (Emerson Library 420). A complete program of activities can be found on the 2017 Teaching Festival page.
