Webster Ghana Broadens Global Footprint

As another academic year begins, Webster University's campus in Accra, Ghana, has increased its global footprint by welcoming new students from across the African continent and beyond.

New enrollees include students from Ghana, neighboring Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Guinea.

Nationals from the United States of America, Canada, South Africa and China have also joined Webster Ghana for the Fall 1 term.

To date, Webster Ghana has had 15 nationalities represented in both undergraduate and graduate cohorts, and the interest in the campus and various academic programs offered continues to grow.

Speaking at the new student orientation program, campus director Christa Sanders provided an overview of the many opportunities available at the school and challenged new students to get engaged and involved in the Webster community.

She emphasized the global academic curriculum as well as the benefits of a diverse faculty and student body. She also encouraged students to study abroad and participate in student life activities. 

Rick Gerger, director of Public Safety at Webster University in St. Louis, also participated in student and faculty orientation programs. He spoke about Webster’s global commitment to keeping faculty, students and staff safe and shared that he would continue to work with the campus to enhance the safety of the Webster Ghana community.

The orientation concluded with a barbeque and networking session where continuing students and new students had the opportunity to interact and meet faculty and staff.
