WSA Awards 7 Extended Campus Travel Scholarships

Webster Staff Alliance (WSA) is pleased to announce the Webster Staff Alliance Scholarship Award Recipients for 2018.
The award is designed to bring domestic extended site staff members to the home campus in Webster Groves, to participate in either the Embracing Diversity and Inclusion: Elevating the Conversation (Feb. 28-March 1, 2018) or WSA Professional Development Day (March 14, 2018). Be sure to say hello if you see them around the halls at main campus!
The objective of the Scholarship Award is to provide extended campus staff members with an opportunity to connect and engage with the home campus and home campus personnel while participating in a professional development opportunity.
Meet the seven scholarship recipients below.
Elysse Williams, Assistant Director, Fort Belvoir
Elysse Williams is the assistant director of Fort Belvoir in the National Capital Region (NCR). She has been with Webster University for two years. Elysse is looking forward to “gain knowledge on how to build and retain trust and affinity.” It is important to Elysse to be a part of “a culture of behavior where people feel valued, respected, and included.”
We look forward to welcoming Elysse to St. Louis, on her first visit to main campus. Elysse will be attending the Diversity and Inclusion Conference, Feb. 28 - Mar. 1.
Kristiin Wise, Assistant Director, Andrews AFB
Kristiin Wise is the assistant director at Andrews AFB in the National Capital Region (NCR). She has been with Webster University for almost two years, and has 11 years of experience in higher education. Kristiin has experience in working with diversity and inclusion in her academic studies and professional roles.
She believes, “Diversity is a driving force in education, it expands minds and challenges the status quo.” We look forward to her attendance and contributions! Kristiin will be attending the Diversity and Inclusion Conference, Feb. 28 - Mar. 1.
Michael Biegler, Recruitment Coordinator, Fort Bliss
Michael Biegler is the recruitment coordinator for Fort Bliss in the Southwest Military Region. He has been a staff member at Webster University for 1 year. Before Michael joined the staff, he first completed his Graduate studies as a Gorlok! Michael has a keen understanding of the need to embody professionalism and hone new skills in order to further the goals and mission of Webster University.
He is looking forward to the opportunity of networking with colleagues, and strengthen his skills as an educator and support team member. Michael will participate in the WSA Professional Development Day on March 14.
Sarah Butler, Director, Fort Sam Houston
Sarah Butler is the director of the Fort Sam Houston campus location in the Southwest Military Region. She also serves as the WSA Extended Campus Chair. Sarah has been with the University for 4 years, and has been the Director of Fort Sam Houston for 2½ years.
As a graduate of Webster University, she has a passion for the University. She strives for all staff members to step out of their shell and be a leader for their campus and students. Sarah will participate in the WSA Professional Development Day on March 14.
Brian Dozer, Director, Irvine Campus
Brian Dozer is the director of the Irvine campus location in the West Coast Metropolitan Region. He has almost a decade of experience with Webster University, first as a student then as an employee. Brian has been the director of Irvine for 2½ years.
He has a strong ability to lead, and garner positive growth among colleagues. He believes positive job performance is achieved, “through building stronger bonds and relationships with other Webster employees, whether they are at the St. Louis campus or other extended sites.” Brian will participate in the WSA Professional Development Day on March 14.
Tracie Isakson, Representative, Rolla Campus
Tracie Isakson is the representative of the Rolla campus location in the Midwest Metropolitan Region. She began her journey with Webster University as a student, then transitioned into a role as a staff member. Tracie has been a staff member for 1½ years.
She is hoping her attendance provides, “new opportunities for growth and leadership, as well as the experiences of functioning in a new collaborative learning environment.” Tracie will participate in the WSA Professional Development Day on March 14.
Keri Stripling, Director, Rolla Campus
Keri Stripling is the director of the Rolla campus location in the Midwest Metropolitan Region. Se, he has been with Webster for over three years. Keri always brings a warm smile and a positive attitude.
She is looking forward to attending Professional Development Day on March 14 because, “Every time I have visited the Webster Groves campus, I have left feeling refreshed and energized, excited to bring my positive experiences back to my extended campus.”
