Remembering Catherine (Cathie) Korobey, Associate Professor Emeritus, Department of Education

The Webster University community extends condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of longtime School of Education faculty member Catherine (Cathie) Korobey.

Cathie started at Webster in 1982 as a faculty member in what was then the Education Department and served as an adjunct for the Math and Computer Studies Department. She was an integral member of the Education Department before it became the School of Education. Cathie was also the first chair of the newly formed Department of Teacher Education.  

Cathie was a dedicated educator who was passionate about education, especially students with special needs. She forged partnerships with many local districts, especially the St. Louis City Public Schools. Cathie retired from Webster University in 2010 as Associate Professor Emeritus. She continued her work as an adjunct until 2014.

Cathie passed away April 2. A memorial Mass will be Tuesday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at All Saints Church in St. Peters, MO. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., April 8 at Baue’s Funeral Home in St. Charles. Her obituary can be found here.
