Richard (Rick) Meyer has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Webster University. The CFO position is part of the University’s senior leadership team and President’s Council.

A Missouri-licensed CPA, Meyer has served in the interim CFO role at Webster since August 2018. He also chairs the University’s COVID-19 Task Force, which has guided Webster’s preparation and response to the coronavirus pandemic throughout spring 2020.

“Today’s economic environment has only underlined the importance of sound resource management for nonprofits,” said Chancellor Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble. “Webster welcomes Rick’s expertise as we continue to provide a high-quality education that is accessible and affordable for students.”

“Rick has provided essential leadership for our Finance & Administration unit during a dynamically changing and challenging era for higher education,” said President Julian Z. Schuster. “We appreciate his knowledge and expertise and welcome his continued leadership as our CFO.”

“I have greatly enjoyed working with this tremendous community, and I am honored and pleased to call Webster home,” Meyer said. “It is my great privilege to be associated with such extraordinary colleagues who are committed to delivering an exceptional educational experience to our students.”

Meyer has extensive experience in executive leadership, board management, non-profit management, finance and accounting, construction and engineering, forensic accounting, litigation support, insurance, mergers and acquisitions, and ERP implementation.

Before Webster, he served in leadership roles with a “big four” CPA firm, a regional construction company, and a large international construction/engineering firm.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Meyer also serves as the voluntary CFO of two nonprofit veteran service organizations.
