Message from Task Force on Transition and Adaptability on Spring Plans

To the University community,

We are now in our final week of undergraduate classes, and next week, our graduate students will complete their terms. As we complete the Fall semester and prepare for a welcome holiday break, we want to remind the community of our Spring plans, which are outlined in the 2020-2021 academic calendar. Be aware that some international campuses and specialized programs have slightly different start and end dates, but most students will follow that schedule.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this health crisis. We want to express our gratitude for how the community has bonded and demonstrated great flexibility as conditions have rapidly changed, as well as the adherence to the COVID-19 protocols that are in place to keep us all safe.

During the upcoming holiday break, key offices that serve students and manage time-sensitive issues will be operating on reduced schedules. In addition, the Transition and Adaptability Task Force and key personnel will actively monitor COVID-19 developments, following the guidance of public health officials and base commands, at all our locations. If any modifications to Spring plans are necessary, the Task Force will notify the community as soon as possible through our email system.

We want to give extra recognition and appreciation to our students, who have demonstrated a strong sense of unity and sensibility during this unique time. The college experience is a transition for many to adulthood where students can explore themselves and determine who they wish to be as adults, with leeway to make mistakes along the way. This pandemic has forced our students to adopt a mantle of maturity much quicker than past generations. Because of our students’ willingness to go above and beyond all normal expectations, Webster University has reported significantly fewer on-campus coronavirus cases than most of our peer institutions. We could not have achieved this outcome without the excellence that has been demonstrated by our students. So, thank you!
