Athens ThanksgivingOn Nov. 25, Webster University Athens Office of Students Affairs, along with the Student Council, hosted an International Thanksgiving Pot-luck lunch at the Webster Athens Cultural Center. Students from over 16 different nations were in attendance and brought traditional dishes from their countries to share with the other students.

ThanksgivingEveryone enjoyed mingling and socializing outside of classes and sampling the flavors of each other’s culture. It was a unique cultural experience for some to taste the foods that were foreign to them. Foods from Indonesia, Israel, Lebanon, Philippines, Georgia and Kazakhstan were the most unique and unfamiliar to many students.

All the protocols for COVID were in place, and students showed their vaccination card or negative rapid antigen test to participate.

“The students were so grateful and happy to come together and socialize after such a long time of being apart,” noted Dina Skias, director of Student Affairs.

The day ended with dancing and celebrating on the rooftop terrace of the cultural center with the Acropolis and Roman Agora lit up in the background.
