Cecil RobertsonThe Webster University community mourns the passing of Cecil Robertson, longtime adjunct faculty member in the Math & Computer Science Department of the Webster University George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology.

Robertson, who began teaching with Webster since 1993, was an adjunct full professor teaching data analytics this spring.

Robertson was previously a systems analyst for McDonnell Douglas Corporation (which later became Boeing) in St Louis before joining the U.S. Army as a computer programmer in the Army Security Agency.

"Cecil particularly treasured the last few years of teaching online classes," the family wrote. "He taught students across the country and around the world. He loved the interaction and encouragement he could offer his students who sometimes were in very unique places and circumstances, including active duty military members."

Services were held in Kirksville, Missouri. Memorial tributes will go toward funding small cell lung cancer research. Read more in the obituary at Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
