Task Force Message: Continuing safety measures amid vaccinations

The following message from the Task Force on Transition and Adaptability was distributed to students and employees on Wednesday, March 17.

To the Webster University community,

As more people voluntarily become vaccinated against Covid-19, we have received questions about whether those who are fully vaccinated are required to follow Webster University’s safety protocols that were instituted last year to protect the community from large coronavirus outbreaks.

The University continues to follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as local and state health department guidelines. The latest modifications to those guidelines say that those who have been fully vaccinated should continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and follow other safety measures.

To reiterate, Webster University continues to require all members of the community to follow our existing protocols, including those who have been vaccinated:

  • Filling out the daily health screening form before coming to campus.
  • Wearing a mask when in a public space or in a room with other people.
  • Washing hands frequently.
  • Allowing for temperature checks upon entry to campus buildings.
  • Helping reduce the population density in buildings and specific spaces such as elevators and stairwells.

The University will continue to monitor the health guidelines from the CDC and other local and state health departments and adjust as needed. Any changes to the University’s coronavirus health guidelines will be shared with the University community. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the pandemic and your diligence in following our safety guidelines and keeping our community safe.
