Webster Vienna Welcomes Over 20 New Students for Orientation
February 07, 2022
On Feb. 2, Webster Vienna's Student Resource Center (SRC) welcomed new students who
started their studies this Spring semester at WVPU by hosting New Student Orientation.
The SRC team together with orientation leaders welcomed more than 20 students from 14 different countries to Palais Wenkheim. "Today, our students started this unique opportunity," said Serena Giacomin, SRC officer. "By studying in the heart of Europe, they will learn about essential skills through teaching and student mentorship."
New students were introduced to Webster's student services (SRC, Career Services, the Language Center and Student Counseling Services) while also getting to know more about WVPU’s diversity of student clubs and how to get more involved on campus.
The second day of NSO started with new students and current students meeting in the atrium and enjoying some ice breakers as they got to know each other better. Then, students met Ben Fasching-Gray from the WVPU library, as he introduced them to the library facilities and our online databases and research tools. After that, a presentation on life in Austria and residence permit information was given by the SRC.
Students then enjoyed a traditional Austrian lunch at a nearby restaurant before going on an excursion to an Ice Skating rink for an afternoon of ice skating joined by the current study abroad students who chose Vienna as their destination for a semester of exchange.
Join us in giving a warm welcome to our new students this Spring semester. Welcome to WVPU, and welcome to Vienna!
