Delegation From Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health Visits Webster University in June

President Julian Z. Schuster welcomed Dr. Uktam Ismailov, head of the department of medical education and science of the Ministry of Health (MOH) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a delegation of leaders of Uzbekistan hospitals and medical universities to Webster University’s main campus on June 23. The purpose of the visit was to continue steps to establish health-related academic programs in Uzbekistan pursuant to an agreement signed by President Schuster and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Health, Dr. Amrillo Inoyatov, in May 2023.

The delegation met with President Schuster, Vice President for Academic Affairs Nancy Hellerud, Walker School of Business & Technology dean Simone Cummings, and College of Science and Health dean Michael Hulsizer. Members of the delegation also toured Webster facilities and discussed academic programs with faculty members from the master of health administration, biology, nursing, nurse anesthesia, and psychology programs.

“Communication between the academic leadership and faculty members of Webster University and their counterparts in medical and educational institutions in Uzbekistan is key to our mutual success,” said President Schuster. “It’s wonderful to see the growing relationships and collaboration between medical experts in our two countries.”Webster University President Julian Z. Next steps include continued connections at the Uzbekistan – USA Health Forum in September in Tashkent and developing operating plans for Webster programs in Uzbekistan.
