Webster University Georgia Celebrates Three Years, First Graduation Ceremony

Webster University Georgia recently celebrated its third anniversary. The occasion was marked with the location’s
first graduation ceremony, a special welcome for new students and a celebration acknowledging
the successes of returning students. The event was held at the Republic Event Hall
in Tbilisi.
Over the past two years, Webster University in the Republic of Georgia has expanded
its academic programs, forged new partnerships and created opportunities for student
exchanges and employment. The event recognized these achievements while honoring outstanding
students and faculty members.
The new academic year was officially inaugurated with a ceremony welcoming the newest
cohort of students. The celebration also marked a significant milestone as diplomas
were awarded to Webster University Georgia’s first graduates.

Rector Jean-Paul Van Marissing and Vice-Rector Emin Hajiyev hosted the event, which welcomed guests from the international and business communities. Meline Arakelian, Ambassador of Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia, Daniels Alexander, public affairs counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi and Irakli Badiashvili, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Tbilisi, addressed the guests and wished students success.
The event featured a formal program with speeches from university leaders, awards for outstanding students and faculty and the presentation of diplomas. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed music, entertainment and a festive atmosphere.
