Webster Film Series Receives a Regional Arts Commission Grant

Webster University Film Series

The Webster Film Series, which has been showing classic and independent films for more than 25 years, was awarded an $8,000 grant from the Regional Art Commission of St. Louis (RAC). This is the second year that the RAC has awarded the series with a grant.

"The Regional Arts Commission's ongoing support of the Webster University Film Series makes a huge difference in our ability to bring filmmakers and scholars to town, to update our equipment, and to bring great films to St. Louis that would otherwise pass our market by,” said Pete Timmermann, director of the Webster Film Series. “Without the support of the RAC, the Missouri Arts Council, the University and our many supporters and donors, we would not be able to continue our award-winning program. I am grateful to the RAC and their vital and robust network for the arts and artists.”

Webster’s film series has been recognized as one of the most robust continual film series in the region. Last December, Timmermann was honored by the Saint Louis Film Critics Association for his contributions to the film community. The Film Series is regularly mentioned on local media as a program that movie lovers should take note of, and frequently hosts special events to spur discussions about current events.
