Otto Hieronymi Prize for Scholarship in History, Politics and International Relations

The Department of International Relations at Webster University Geneva has announced the creation of the Otto Hieronymi Prize for the best scholarly monograph in the fields of History, Politics and International Relations (HPIR), including Political Science, International Economics, Diplomatic History, International Public Law, and Humanitarian, Migration/Refugee Issues.

The prize has been created and sponsored by the faculty of the Department of International Relations at Webster University Geneva in 2019 to honor Dr. Otto Hieronymi, former head of the Department and founder of the annual International Humanitarian and Security Conference (www.webster.ch/ihsc).

It is open to all History, Politics and International Relations (HPIR) faculty of Webster University network worldwide.

The Department of International Relations at Webster University Geneva administers the competition for the award, consisting of CHF 1’500 and a plaque, through an independent committee composed of two Webster University professors and one external scholar.

• Entries must be published in English.
• The monographs can be single authored or co-authored.
• Edited volumes are not taken into consideration.
• Books with a copyright of 2018 are also eligible for the 2019 award.
• Nominations may be made by an author or a publisher. Nominators must complete an online prize submission form for each book submitted.
• One copy of each entry must be sent to each committee member and clearly labeled “Hieronymi Prize Entry.”
• Print copies preferred unless otherwise indicated. If only e-copy is available, please contact review committee members beforehand to arrange submission format.

Entries must be received by Sept. 30, 2019, to be eligible for the 2019 competition. Entries will not
be returned. Recipients will be announced on the Webster University Geneva’s website in January 2020 and recognized during a ceremony at the 25th International Humanitarian and Security Conference on March 19-20, 2020, at the Geneva International Conference Center (www.cicg.ch).
